At Brave Sis Project, we are doing our part to respond to our current social and political moment. In a post-DEI world, where fracture and division have become too common, we want to hold onto the legacy of the Foremothers who have inspired us since our founding on Christmas Day, 2019. They faced unimaginable hardship and challenges, in an era where solidarity was mostly a pipe dream. In 2026, our headwinds are many, but we believe in the future they dreamt for us, and it’s our collective charge to deliver on that dream and promise.
Over the first half of this year, I've worked at rebuilding the business, the promise, the school, and the website. And we are close, but I'm so excited, I wanted to give you a preview now of what to expect later this summer.
Our storytelling, learning, and leadership platform is growing! You will see our work organized across three platforms: Celebrate / Learn / Act.
Celebrate, refers to the storytelling, the #SistoryLessons, my award-winning book, and the merch store, where you can show your pride and gratitude for the Foremothers and also help support the business.
Learn is our hub for our self-paced courses (new “entry-level” course coming soon, and our signature “Unengaged to Ally” course has been updated for today’s context!) this area also includes mini-coaching, essays, and other writings from me to keep you learning, engaged, and encouraged. Do you follow the Brave Sis Project Solidarity and Unity Space on Substack? You should be!
Our third area, Act, provides leadership and facilitative offerings to teams, groups, and organizations, and curated information and suggestions for anybody who wants to extend the legacy of our brave Foremothers by taking action against the societal and political harms and rollbacks we are experiencing in this moment.
Do you like our new Instagram look? The current series not only celebrates Foremothers, it gives you inspiration and actions to take in the face of dismantled voting rights. What would Ella do? What would Fannie Lou do? What can YOU do? Our insta feed needs your "likes," shares, and comments to become noticed in the algorithm. It's a rough game out there!
All of this reflects our core belief that solidarity is not a training you complete one time, but a praxis you sustain over the very long haul.
If you’ve followed our evolution over these six years, you are aware that Brave Sis Project positions itself as something different from DEI. That modality traditionally centers compliance, comfort, and temporary fixes while leaving power structures and inclusion gaps intact. Our baseline approach has a new name: SAIN et SAUF, which stands for Sustainable, Authentic, Inclusive, and Nurturing Solidarity and Unity Framework. This is very deliberate, and it has been built to enact transformation, BIPOC liberation, and redistribution of power. It embodies Power WITH not power OVER. More on all of this to come.
If we are to come together in a new spirit of collaboration, unity, and trust, it’s important that the offerings be designed to meet people where they are and move them deeper into the praxis. We’ve been very busy with all of this as well, from the existing courses to new offerings, and some “test the waters” tools for those wishing to embark on a stronger practice of solidarity and unity across difference.
You will see a new Solidarity & Unity EQ Assessment mini-quiz (for individuals and groups), a 100-Foremother Quote Cards series for quick inspiration, and reflection, alongside our invigorated social media platforms and ongoing longer-form Substack essays, which are a deeper reflective dive from me and stand in as free mini-coaching.From there, individuals will be able to go into a new self-paced course, Brave Awareness or to our signature “Unengaged to Ally, Advocate to Sister” course, which is now offered in two parts with updates and other resources.
Organizations will have the opportunity to engage through the Brave Sis Project Solidarity Lab, where I and a few trusted partners will begin offering bespoke services based on our collective experience enhanced with the SAIN et SAUF methodology.
Later this year, if we are successful with our fund-raise, we will launch a design cohort for our first Solidarity Lab Facilitator’s Academy, which will be a groundbreaking new initiative for practitioners to provide new frameworks and approaches for a post-DEI era to their clients and partners. If you happen to be connected to potential investors in this vision, we are fiscally sponsored by The Funding Studio, and I'd love to talk with you about the vision!
We are in building, launching, and creation mode, as I expand this from the solopreneur effort you have enjoyed and entrusted into something much more significant. Your continued support, amplification, and involvement mean the world, so thank you in advance, stay tuned for more updates, and hope to see and engage with you meaningfully in the weeks and months ahead!
Thank you! Yours in solidarity, unity, and celebration,
Rozella Kennedy
P.S. Now would be an excellent time to share our platform with your friends and others you think will enjoy or benefit from this work!! Send this newsletter to friends and encourage them to join us. Go to our social media accounts and like, comment, share so we can win this algorithm. It was not created by or for Future Foremothers, that is for sure!
